UCA Nautical Campus collaborates in the MoveFit event

The first edition of the MOVEFIT day arises on May 27, 2022 as an initiative of the 4th year students of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences (CCAFYD) of the University of Cadiz as a project of the subject “New Trends in Fitness and Wellness”. The aim is to bring the new trends in training to all university staff and in order to promote a physical, healthy and safe practice in a natural environment and outdoors. The idea of this event comes from previous editions that have traditionally been held in the sports complex of the faculty itself and now moves to an external environment, with the aim of following the proposal of other years where the beach of La Caleta was used as the location of the event, receiving a great acceptance by the recipients. The dynamics of the event is based on the “Sport Festival”, held annually in Portugal and which lasts 72 hours, bringing together a large number of CCAFYD students and sports enthusiasts in general. In our case, the MOVEFIT day differs from the previous mentioned festival in that it does not seek an economic profitability but a social profitability without profit. Another differentiating aspect is the duration of the same, having the MOVEFIT day a total duration of 6h in which a variety of sports activities are offered both land and water. The students who organize the event have training in matters related to the organization and management of events, as well as in the programming of physical-sports activities aimed at improving the psychological and biological health of the population. In addition, it had the support of the University of Cadiz and professors of the degree. Therefore, from the organization of the event, they transmit their joy for the high acceptance of the proposal and participation by the university community in general.

The Nautical Campus of the University of Cadiz collaborated in this event by providing the necessary nautical equipment such as double and single kayaks and paddle surf boards size XL, as well as life jackets and paddles.
