Parts of a Catamaran
Here we can see and learn all the parts of a catamaran. We then define the main elements for the handling of the catamaran.
- Coiler: System for furling the jib on the stay.
- Outhaul: Control for adjusting the tension of the mainsail stem.
- Cunninham: Control for adjusting the luff tension of the mainsail.
- Mainsheet: Labour rigging to control the mainsail.
- Foque’s sheet: Working rigging to control the jib.
- Barberhauler: System for adjusting the angle of the jib sheet.
- Spinnaker sheet Working rigging to control the spinnaker.
- Traveler: Trolley for adjusting the mainsheet sheet to windward or leeward.
- Mast: Main rigging component.
- Trapezoid: A system that allows the crew to hang from a harness to windward.
- Obenque: Fixed rigging to support the mast.
- Orza: Retractable fin so that the boat can be girded.
- Pontoon: Vessel hull.
- Rudder Head: The fitting in which the rudder blade is housed.
- Rudder Blade: Rudder system component.
- Rudder Tiller: Telescopic rod for course control.
- Trampoline: A flexible synthetic element that acts as a cover.
- Crossbar: Structural bar joining the pontoons.
- Boom: Component of the rigging to hold the mainsail foot.
